2020' Korea International Contemporary Dance Competition (KICDC) - FREE Video Application

Greetings. We are writing to inform you of an exclusive opportunity!

Korea’s prestigious Contemporary Dance Competition, recognized by the UNESCO International Dance Federation (http://www.cid-portal.org/), will be receiving free video applications [HERE]. 

This competition was created by the Korea Dance Association in August 2010 with the aims of promoting the development of contemporary dance in Korea through the international exchange of culture and arts. elevating the status of artists and improving their rights and interest. It has been one of Korea’s representative international dance competitions since 2010, specializing in contemporary dance.

It is an international competition involving the best contemporary dancers from all over the world. This prestigious competition promotes the international development of contemporary dance and provides opportunities for the assembly and exchange of culture and arts.

A. Pre-Junior Male / Female (Solo): 12 and above ~ Under 14 years old

B. Junior Male / Female (Solo): 14 and above ~ Under 18 years old

C. Senior Male / Female (Solo): 18 and above ~ Under 34 years old

Please refer below for the required materials. 

Required materials

1) Contemporary dance video

• Condition: No-cut, no-edit, ONE TAKE VIDEO that is shot in an open space (studio / outdoors / home, etc.). However, you are allowed to trim the length of the video (e.g. 10 minutes video -> trim off the beginning or ending to make it 4 minutes) 
• Make sure to submit a horizontal video, with the resolution of at least 720p or above. 
• Make sure the video has good lighting and shows the dancer's face and movement clearly
• Videos from previous competitions/performances are accepted as well 
• Upload and submit video link (Youtube or Vimeo) // Set to “Unlisted” or “Public”
• Pre-junior and Junior: ONE video link around 4 mins.
• Senior: TWO different video links around 4 mins each. 
• Senior Video Submission Options:

2) ONE headshot photo: a photo that shows the participant’s face clearly.  (Passport/Headshot photo) 

Awards

If there is no winner, the prize will not be awarded.
